![]() ![]() Here’s a post on how the organizer works: All you have to do is click Save in your browser. Now Mendeley will automatically pick the PDFs out of that folder, import them, and organize them for you. Next, go to the Watched Folders tab and pick the folder into which your PDFs are downloaded (I use desktopMendeley Watch but you can make it whatever you want. Subfolders aren’t necessary because search is a more efficient way to find things, but a naming scheme such as Author-Year-Title is useful. I recommend using a folder name such as DocumentsMendeley as the destination for copied files. Check Organize My Files and choose the options you’d like. Open Mendeley Desktop and select Tools>Option, then the File Organizer tab. I don't have admin rights so I can't install or uninstall anything.Rory, there is an easier way. I have tried to turn off a number of security settings in Acrobat and PDF X-Change to no avail. I have changed the default program association for PDF to Acrobat Reader and PDF X-Change but still the same results. The computer has Acrobat Reader DC, PDF X-Change editor and PDFCreator installed. Others computers in the organisation are having the same issue but then some are OK. When the icon is selected the formula bar displays =EMBED("Packager Shell Object","") The icon can be double clicked and the object will open fine. The result is I get an icon displayed and not the content of the PDF. I am using Insert / Object, Create from File, Browse and select PDF, I DO NOT check the boxes Link to File or Display as Icon. I am trying to embed the content of a PDF into the workbook - I totally understand that I will only get the first page of the document, thats all I want as the PDF is always one page in length. This is actually a problem that is effecting not just Excel but all office. ![]()
